BEGINGERS COURSES 2026
Our beginner archery courses at Brighton Bowmen provide a welcoming and structured introduction to the sport, ideal for anyone aged 10+ and over with no prior experience. Archery is an inclusive activity that can be enjoyed by people of all abilities, and our courses are designed to help you build confidence while learning in a safe, supportive environment.
Each course takes place outdoors at Longhill Sports Centre and runs over a full weekend (Saturday and Sunday), with sessions from 10:00am to 3:00pm. To successfully complete the course, attendance on both days is required. Courses are limited to 12 participants per weekend to ensure plenty of individual guidance from our experienced team.
Throughout the weekend, you’ll be taught by qualified Archery GB instructors and coaches who will guide you through the core fundamentals of modern archery. This includes essential range safety, correct shooting technique, an introduction to different types of archery and equipment, and an overview of how the sport is organised in the UK. You’ll also receive advice on next steps, including how to continue your progress and choose the right club.
All equipment and insurance are provided, so you don’t need to bring anything with you. In fact, we recommend not purchasing any equipment until you’ve completed a course and received guidance. Please note that archery is a physical activity, so participants should be reasonably fit to take part. Under 18s must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or responsible adult, and any relevant medical conditions or injuries should be shared with us in advance.
Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a certificate and confirmation letter, along with the opportunity to join Brighton Bowmen as a full member and continue developing your skills.

2026 Course Prices:
Our beginner course is priced at £90 per person, which includes all equipment, insurance, and expert instruction across the full weekend.
We also offer a parent and child discount (for under 18s), allowing one adult and one junior to attend together for a combined price of £160.
